How much coverage am I provided during dental school? ▾

Years 1 and 2 $1,500 per month. Years 3 and 4 $2,000 per month.

Do I need to complete any forms to obtain this coverage? ▾

No. Coverage is provided automatically and no forms are required.

Under what terms will I be eligible to receive benefits? ▾

During the first 5 years of a disability, disability means the inability to attend dental school and maintain active status. The student must not be working. After 5 years of disability, disability means the inability to attend dental school and maintain active status. Student must also be unable to perform the duties of any "reasonable" occupation for which the insured is suited based on education, training and experience and the student must not be working.

Are these benefits taxable? ▾

Benefits will be tax free.

How quickly are benefits paid? ▾

Benefits will be provided after 180 days of total or partial disability.

How long will I be eligible to receive benefits? ▾

Benefits will continue until you reach your normal retirement age or no longer satisfy the definition of disability.

Under what terms will I qualify for student loan reimbursement? ▾

If you are unable to perform two or more activities of daily living (functional disability) for 12 months, you may be entitled to the repayment of all the eligible debt up to $250,000 that you are legally liable to repay for college and/ or dental school related education.

What is the maximum of student loan debt that is eligible for reimbursement? ▾

$250,000

Does this coverage exclude any current or pre-existing conditions? ▾

The disability must occur while insured and you must satisfy a period of 90 days during which you are totally disabled. Yes, an injury or illness diagnosed or treated within the 12 months prior to the plan's effective date will not be covered if the claim occurs during the first 12 months of coverage.

Can I maintain my protection when I complete dental school? ▾

Yes, you can convert your coverage to a permanent and portable individual policy when you are within 3 months of graduation.

Do I have to satisfy any medical underwriting requirements based on current or past medical history in order to qualify? ▾

No. All current and previous medical conditions will be covered

How much coverage is available when I graduate? ▾

You can apply a policy that will provide up to $24,000/year of tax free income.

Do I need to complete any forms to obtain this coverage? ▾

Yes. You will need to complete a short form application

Will this policy be reduced by long term disability benefits provided by a future employer? ▾

The benefits provided through this policy will not be offset by any benefits you receive after your training program.

Are the benefits available from this policy taxable or tax-free? ▾

If the premiums for this coverage is paid with after tax dollars, benefits will be tax free.

Will I be insured for my ability to perform my own specialty? ▾

Yes, the coverage will insure you exclusively for the duties of the specialty you are performing at time of claim.

Does this policy provide protection if I am working in a reduced capacity during a recuperative period of from the initial onset of an accident or illness? ▾

Yes, this coverage is designed to provide a proportionate benefit once you satisfy the waiting period and benefits will continue until you reach the end of the benefit period or the percentage loss of income falls below 15%.

How long will benefits be provided? ▾

Benefits will be provided until you reach the Age of 67 or no longer satisfy the definitions of total or residual (partial loss) disability
